John
Stanley
was raised in the Southern
California desert. His musical family dates back generations with
hillbilly music on the one side of the family and the depths of jazz
on the other. A multi-instrumentalist and accomplished vocalist,
his style is undeniable his own and his charisma has been compared
to all the greats
When John
was eighteen, he was handpicked by Fred Waring to be a part of his
orchestra, touring such places as Kennedy Center, The Shrine
Auditorium and Carnegie Hall. John Stanley has performed for
presidents, dignitaries and corporations, and with such stars as
Vince Gill, Toby Keith, Amy Grant, Ronnie Laws and Three Dog Night
as well as many others. His funky guitar styles can currently be
heard on rap tracks by Snoop Doggy Dogg, Sugar Free, Bad Ass and
Silky Fine. John has also been featured in newspapers and magazines
such as Brentwood Magazine, Palm Springs Life, LA Times and Desert
Sun etc. Thirty years of musical experience and thousands of shows
and concerts makes John Stanley King a very unique performer.
Rob
Martinez, bass and vocals, is John
Stanley's right hand man and started playing bass professionally in
1990. Now a seasoned veteran, Rob holds down the bottom and is the
glue to some of John Stanley's madness. Rob started playing in
cover bands and writing his own music with the progressive rock
band, Cornerstone.
Rob has shared
the stage with such groups as REO Speedwagon, Missing Persons,
Robbie Krieger and Canned Heat to name a few. Rob can also be heard
on CDs by Chris Compton Band and Push, a Los Angeles based pop rock
band. Joining the John Stanley King band in 1998, he plays bass,
shares vocals and co-writes with John Stanley.
